Onedrive or iCloud for that matter is not the solution. Can I give zero stars? Breathtakingly poor – the hours wasted trying to synchronise large repos between machines. Please never use this awful awful software. Duplicate file issues, inability to see what is going except the spinning cursor of death. Even if it costs extra to use another file storage system, it is worth it. Life’s too short to deal with this rubbish.

Uploaded Mac files but typical Windows BS the file names have to match exactly the dinosaur Windows protocol for file names – no symbols allowed in the file names. Have almost files and approximately files did not match the dinosaur Windows protocol for file names; kept asking me to repair the file names that did not match their protocol; gave up after two hours and removed OneDrive from my Mac.

Lesson learned. I have to admit that OneDrive in current version stinks. I purchased an O subscription thru the app store expecting to get OneDrive with1Tb of storage and enhanced security features but only got the the basic 5GB version v How can this be rectified?

As part of my Office subscription, I get 1TB of online storage. For the personal license, it allows 5 PC installs and up to 5 users sharing the Office license – each with their own 1TB of OneDrive storage. I actually have OneDrive for business since my O subscription is tied to my domain name that I have with GoDaddy, but the benefits of OneDrive are absolutely stellar.

I also constantly get the force closed app notification, since the app isn’t working. Every time I try to open it or anything involving photos, it force closes. You can now display your media files on a Chromecast receiver or TV from a compatible device.

I had been using it since the SkyDrive days. Those days were storage heaven. I was able to rack up to 50 gigabytes of free storage. Well, OneDrive came to life and changed things.

Some improved and some got canned like the amount of free storage. That is the only reason it I take one star from it. The integration of OneDrive with Windows Personal files can be somehow problematic since by default makes OneDrive upload everything you put on those folders.

That way I have more control over what goes into One Drive instead of letting Windows do it for me.
